ICAI Invites Applications for Empanelment as Faculty/Experts for Online Modules

ICAI Opens Doors for Chartered Accountants to Become Online Faculty and Subject Matter Experts

In a significant move to enhance the quality of online education for aspiring Chartered Accountants, the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has announced an open invitation for applications from seasoned Chartered Accountants and professionals with a rich background in teaching. The call is aimed at those interested in contributing as faculty or subject matter experts for the institute’s Self-Paced Online Modules (SPOM).

This initiative is a cornerstone of the ICAI’s New Scheme of Education and Training, which seeks to integrate online learning and assessments into its curriculum through the innovative SPOMs. These modules are meticulously designed to offer flexible and accessible learning opportunities to students pursuing the Chartered Accountancy course, ensuring they can learn at their own pace and convenience.

The SPOM program encompasses a wide range of subjects, categorized into four sets:

  • Set A focuses on Corporate and Economic Laws,
  • Set B on Strategic Cost and Performance Management,
  • Set C covers a broad spectrum including Risk Management, Sustainable Development, and International Taxation among others,
  • Set D delves into the Indian Constitution, Psychology, Entrepreneurship, and the Digital Ecosystem.

Selected faculty will be tasked with recording high-quality e-lectures, employing experiential learning techniques to foster a more engaging and effective learning environment. According to the official announcement from ICAI, the honorarium for these e-lectures is quite attractive, ranging from Rs. 25,000 to Rs. 30,000 per hour of usable content, varying with the subject set.

Applicants are expected to possess deep knowledge and practical experience in their respective subject areas, coupled with exemplary communication and teaching skills. Proficiency in online teaching tools and techniques is also a prerequisite for the role.

Interested candidates are required to submit their applications along with a 7-10 minute demo video on a relevant subject. The deadline for submission is set for July 15th, 2024. Further details regarding the application process and the program itself can be found through the links provided in the announcement.

This initiative by ICAI not only opens up new avenues for professionals to contribute to the education sector but also significantly enhances the learning experience for students, preparing them better for their future careers in Chartered Accountancy.
