Mount Sinai Health System Appoints Vincent Tammaro as New CFO

In an exciting development for the Mount Sinai Health System, Vincent Tammaro has been named the next Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer (CFO), set to join the organization in October. Tammaro will be taking over from Stephen Harvey, who will remain as CFO Emeritus to aid in the transition.

With over 30 years of experience in hospital and healthcare financial management, Tammaro brings a wealth of expertise to his new role. Most recently, he served as the CFO of The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio, where he led various financial functions and spearheaded innovative strategies to enhance financial performance.

In his new position at Mount Sinai, Tammaro will be responsible for overseeing the financial operations of the health system, working closely with senior leaders to define and execute the organization’s strategic direction. His areas of focus will include financial reporting, audit, treasury, revenue cycle, and managed care, among others.

“We are thrilled to welcome Vincent to our team and are confident that his visionary leadership will drive our financial performance to new heights,” said Brendan Carr, CEO of Mount Sinai Health System. “His extensive experience and strategic mindset will be instrumental as we continue to expand access to healthcare and address the complex challenges facing the industry.”

Tammaro expressed his excitement about joining Mount Sinai, citing the organization’s commitment to providing compassionate care and conducting cutting-edge research. He looks forward to collaborating with Dr. Carr and the leadership team to make a meaningful impact on the communities served by Mount Sinai.

The appointment of Vincent Tammaro comes at a pivotal time for Mount Sinai Health System, as the organization looks to build on its legacy of excellence and innovation in healthcare. With his proven track record and strategic acumen, Tammaro is poised to lead the financial transformation necessary for the system’s continued growth and success.
