Expansion and Growth of Dains Accountants: A UK Wide Presence

Dains Accountants Expands UK Presence Through Strategic Acquisitions

Dains Accountants, a longstanding firm founded in Lichfield, Staffordshire in 1926, has recently achieved nationwide coverage across England, Scotland, and Ireland through a series of strategic business acquisitions over the past five years. The firm, known for its dedication to helping owner-managed businesses thrive, has seen significant growth and success under the leadership of managing partner Richard McNeilly.

McNeilly, who joined Dains 18 years ago as business development partner, has been instrumental in expanding the firm’s service offerings to include private client, corporate tax, VAT advisory, employment tax, corporate finance, payroll, and forensic accounting. With a focus on maintaining a strong team culture, Dains has successfully integrated new businesses into its fold, ensuring a seamless transition and consistent service for clients.

In 2019, Dains embarked on a strategic growth plan to deepen its client offerings and attract top talent. This led to a series of acquisitions and ultimately, private equity investment from Horizon Capital in 2021. The firm has since merged with several like-minded businesses, including Barringtons, Isosceles Finance, William Duncan & Co. PSTAX and S3TAX, HSKSG Greenhalgh, Magma Chartered Accountants, and McInerney Saunders.

McNeilly emphasized the importance of having a strong team to drive controlled and profitable growth, stating, “It takes a brilliant team to grow an organization in a controlled and profitable way, and that is why we are in a strong position to confidently advise our clients.” With a focus on nurturing growth and anticipating risks and opportunities, Dains is well-positioned to help clients flourish and succeed in their business endeavors.

As Dains continues to expand its reach and service offerings, the firm remains committed to providing exceptional client service and fostering a supportive and progressive work environment for its team. With a winning mentality and a dedication to continuous improvement, Dains Accountants is poised for continued success in the years to come.
