ICAN Tasks Accountants on Accountability – Featured Image and Article
The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) has emphasized the importance of accountability and ethical conduct among accountants in the country. During the Investiture of the 9th Chairman and Inauguration of the Executive Committee in Auchi, Edo State, ICAN President, Davidson Alaribe, urged accountants to uphold the integrity and accuracy of their profession.
Alaribe stressed the need for accountants to work with probity and honesty, as they are responsible for managing liquid assets in organizations. He reminded them to adhere to the profession’s motto of integrity and accuracy and avoid compromising their work or engaging in unethical practices.
The ICAN president congratulated the new chairman and executive members of the Auchi and District Society, encouraging them to be exemplary leaders. He also highlighted ICAN’s commitment to advancing the accounting profession in Auchi and its environs.
The immediate past chairman, Mr. Abu Oseni, expressed gratitude to members for their support during his tenure and wished the new chairman success in his leadership role. The new chairman, Dr. Samuel Oshiole, pledged to uphold the legacy of his predecessors and enhance the ICAN brand known for accuracy and integrity.
Dr. Oshiole also announced plans to commence the construction of a district secretariat to better serve members in the Edo North region. He emphasized the importance of having a suitable office space for the district’s operations and expressed his commitment to achieving this goal during his tenure.
