ACCA Nigeria Summit 2022: Upholding Zero Tolerance for Corruption in Accounting Practices
The Association of Certified Chartered Accountants (ACCA) is taking a strong stance against corruption in the workplace to protect the integrity of accounting records in both public and private sectors. At the 2022 ACCA Nigeria summit held in Abuja, ACCA Country Head in Nigeria, Tom Isibor, emphasized the importance of maintaining ethical standards and values in line with global accounting standards.
Isibor highlighted that ACCA professionals stand out from other accounting bodies due to their qualifications, dynamic experiences, and global recognition. He also warned that any member found engaging in fraudulent practices would face sanctions, including the possibility of having their certificate revoked after a thorough investigation.
The summit was designed to develop core competencies and create a pipeline of progressive ACCA students based on professional insights. ACCA Deputy President/CEO of Rubicola Consulting, Joseph Owolabi, emphasized the program’s objectives, which include increasing value delivery to employers, creating future-ready professionals, and developing a pipeline of ACCA future members with the capacity to progress through the qualification.
Speaking on the topic of ‘Building Capacity for the 4th Revolution,’ Chief Talent Officer of Y F Talent Partners, Yemi Faseun, expressed delight that over 500,000 members from public and private organizations were attending the program in Abuja. The summit aims to equip attendees with the skills and knowledge needed to thrive in the rapidly evolving business landscape of the 4th Industrial Revolution.
