ASM Chartered Accountants Belfast Office Joins Sumer Group to Become Sumer Northern Ireland

The Belfast office of ASM Chartered Accountants is set to undergo a major transformation as it joins forces with the prestigious Sumer Group, rebranding as Sumer Northern Ireland at the end of June. This move will not affect ASM’s other offices in Magherafelt, Dungannon, Newry, and Dundalk, which will continue operating under the ASM name.

Sumer is a renowned mid-market accountancy practice and ranks among the top 15 UK accountancy firms, with a focus on supporting SME businesses. Led by managing director Brian Clerkin, Sumer Northern Ireland will offer a wide range of services, including audit and accounting, corporate finance, insolvency, forensic accounting, internal audit, and tax services to clients in the public, private, and not-for-profit sectors.

Brian Clerkin expressed his excitement about the partnership, highlighting the shared commitment to providing excellent client-focused services. He believes that joining forces with Sumer will enhance growth prospects and expand the firm’s service offerings by tapping into the group’s knowledge and resources.

Warren Mead, chief executive at Sumer, emphasized the strategic importance of the partnership, noting the potential for future expansion and acquisitions in the region. The establishment of Sumer Northern Ireland marks the group’s first office in the region and signifies a period of growth and opportunity.

Michael McAllister, founder of ASM Chartered Accountants, expressed gratitude to the Belfast team for their contributions and wished them success in their new endeavor. He emphasized ASM’s commitment to remaining an independent firm to better serve clients and highlighted the company’s growth trajectory, including the recent expansion into Derry.

Overall, the partnership between ASM Chartered Accountants and the Sumer Group represents an exciting new chapter for both firms, with the potential for enhanced services, growth, and opportunities in the Northern Ireland market.
