HKA Bolsters Forensic Accounting and Commercial Damages Team with Three New High-Profile Additions

In a significant move to enhance its Forensic Accounting and Commercial Damages (FACD) practice, HKA, a global leader in risk mitigation, dispute resolution, expert witness, and litigation support services, has announced the addition of three distinguished experts to its North American team.

K. Scott Van Meter, with an impressive 35-year career spanning litigation consulting, bankruptcy, restructuring, valuation, and forensic accounting, joins HKA as a Partner in Houston, TX. Van Meter, known for his financial advisory and litigation support prowess, has been a go-to expert witness in over 100 complex disputes across North America and Europe. His extensive experience in bankruptcy-related disputes positions him as a valuable asset to HKA’s growing team. Van Meter, a CPA licensed in Texas and Florida, holds a Juris Doctorate from Stetson University College of Law and a Bachelor of Business Administration and Accounting from Washington and Lee University.

Pamela Verick steps into the role of Principal based in Washington, DC, bringing over 25 years of experience in global fraud risk management, compliance programs, and response strategies to unplanned events. Verick, a recognized leader in forensic advisory, has lent her expertise in over 40 countries, assisting legal and compliance counsel, board members, C-suite executives, and senior management in navigating the complexities of fraud, bribery, and corruption risks. Her background includes significant roles in the forensic practices of globally recognized consulting organizations and Big Four accounting firms. Verick holds a Master of Science and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Justice from American University and is a Certified Fraud Examiner and Certified Compliance and Ethics Professional.

Alexander Lee joins as Director in New York City, specializing in business valuations and damages quantification. With over 15 years of professional experience, Lee has become a testifying expert in a variety of industries, including mining, energy, banking, and real estate development. His expertise is recognized in Who’s Who Legal (WWL) Arbitration Future Leaders, Mining, and Thought Leaders USA – Mining guides. Before HKA, Lee was a director at AlixPartners and earned his Master and Bachelor of Accounting and Financial Management from the University of Waterloo. He is a Chartered Professional Accountant in Ontario and a Chartered Business Valuator.
