ICAN Sokoto District Society to Construct Modern Secretariats for Young Accountants
The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) Sokoto District Society is embarking on a groundbreaking initiative to support young accountants in Sokoto, Kebbi, and Zamfara states. The newly sworn-in Chairman, Alhaji Ismaeel Oluwaseun Suleiman, announced plans to construct modern secretariats in Birnin Kebbi and Sokoto to provide essential resources and information to aspiring accountants.
Suleiman emphasized the importance of easy access to information and resources for the growth and development of young accountants in the region. The construction of these modern facilities, in collaboration with ICAN national body and State Governments, will set a new standard for excellence in the field of accounting.
In addition to the construction of secretariats, Suleiman outlined a comprehensive plan to focus on community relations, welfare packages, member training, and youth engagement programs. He stressed the importance of unity among members to achieve these goals and create an inclusive and welcoming society.
The outgoing Chairman, Alhaji Sanni Yusuf Olatunji, commended the efforts of the new administration and encouraged former executive members to continue supporting their initiatives. The Special Guest of the occasion, Chief of Staff to the Kebbi State Governor, Barrister Attairu Maccido, praised ICAN for their professionalism and significant contributions to Nigeria’s economic development.
Maccido also urged the association to conduct professional examinations for accounting students in Kebbi State, with the state government pledging to support the enrollment of students for these examinations. The commitment of ICAN Sokoto District Society to excellence and growth in the field of accounting is evident in their ambitious plans and dedication to supporting young accountants in the region.
