Unleashing the Power of Accounting Analytics: Meghan Hayes’ Journey from Crime Shows to Forensic Accounting

Marquette University student Meghan Hayes is making waves in the accounting world with her unique blend of interests and drive for success. Growing up watching crime shows like “Criminal Minds” and “Law & Order,” Hayes always had a fascination with criminal investigation. However, it wasn’t until a chance encounter with FBI agents at a career event that she realized she could combine her love for solving crimes with her accounting degree.

After realizing that finance wasn’t her passion, Hayes decided to pursue a Master’s in Accounting Analytics at Marquette University. This program allowed her to blend accounting, business, and computer science courses, creating a perfect springboard for her varied interests. Hayes has excelled in her studies, completing three internships, serving as president of a student organization, and even studying abroad in Germany.

Faculty members describe Hayes as a driven and ambitious student who has made the most of her time at Marquette. Her dedication to her studies, leadership skills, and ability to create a culture of camaraderie have set her apart from her peers. Hayes has not only excelled academically but has also made a difference in her community by raising funds for various programs through her involvement in Beta Alpha Psi.

As she prepares to graduate and start a full-time job at Deloitte, Hayes remains enthusiastic about her chosen career path. She credits Marquette University for instilling in her the value of being the difference and encourages others to seize opportunities and give their best effort. Meghan Hayes is a shining example of how passion, drive, and a willingness to learn can lead to success in any field.
