Expansion of Central Bank of South Sudan with New Branch in Kuajok and Plans for Digital Banking Services

The Central Bank of South Sudan is making significant strides in expanding its reach and services to better serve the people of the country, both at home and abroad. The recent commissioning of a new branch in Kuajok marks a milestone in the bank’s growth strategy, aimed at promoting financial inclusion and supporting smallholder farmers and enterprises.

The event, attended by top officials including the deputy governor of the Central Bank, Anyiel Gordon Kuol, and area member of the national legislative assembly, Charles Majak Aleer, highlighted the importance of extending financial services to underserved regions. With the addition of the Kuajok branch, the total number of branches across the country now stands at eight, with plans for further expansion in the pipeline.

Governor Garang emphasized the bank’s commitment to deepening its presence in fast-growing regions and expanding services to meet the needs of customers. The new leadership of the bank is also exploring innovative ways to reach South Sudanese in the diaspora through digital platforms, making banking more accessible and convenient for all.

Financial and banking analysts have praised the move towards digital banking services, noting the potential for increased economic growth and investment opportunities. South Sudanese living abroad will soon have access to seamless banking options, allowing them to support their families and communities back home with ease.

The initiative aligns with the global trend towards digital banking and the increasing importance of diaspora communities in driving economic growth. By leveraging technology and innovation, the Central Bank of South Sudan is positioning itself to better serve its customers and contribute to the country’s development in the years to come.
