Recent Appointments and Promotions in the Accounting and Finance Industry

Saffery Expands National Corporate Finance Team in the South of England

Saffery has made a strategic move to expand its national corporate finance team into the south of England by welcoming Hemal Pandit as a director in its Bournemouth office. Pandit, an experienced corporate finance advisor, brings with him a wealth of expertise in the lower mid-market, catering to clients such as private equity firms, owner-managed businesses, listed and private companies. His previous role at RSM as an associate director saw him specializing in due diligence and financial analysis.

Cowgills Announces Three New Partners

Cowgills has recently announced the promotion of three new partners, Ben Barlow, James Greenhalgh, and Jordan Heys, bringing the firm’s partner count to 29. Barlow, who has been appointed in the deal advisory team, started his journey at Cowgills as an audit graduate in 2011 before transitioning to deal advisory in 2015. Greenhalgh, with 24 years of experience in the tax team, specializes in corporate restructuring, catering to property and construction clients as well as complex owner-managed businesses. Heys, who joined the business recovery team over a decade ago, has played a pivotal role in the division’s growth, working closely with accountants and directors of owner-managed businesses.

Johnston Carmichael Strengthens Leadership Team

Johnston Carmichael has bolstered its leadership team with three partner promotions, including Gillian McColgan in tax, Graeme Bain in restructuring, and Sally Hewish in audit quality, risk, and technical. The firm has also appointed Ryan Milne in business advisory and Keith Hamilton as general counsel, showcasing its commitment to nurturing future leaders. The promotions come ahead of the firm’s summer student intake, welcoming 61 new recruits, including graduates and accounting apprenticeship students.

RSM UK Appoints Rob Pullen as Private Client Tax Partner

RSM UK has appointed Rob Pullen as the private client tax partner, focusing on London and the southeast region. With over 15 years of experience, Pullen will provide tailored tax solutions for owner-managed businesses and high net worth individuals, splitting his time between RSM’s southern and London offices. His previous role as a partner at Blick Rothenberg has equipped him with the expertise to navigate the complex tax landscape.

PwC Announces New Management Board

PwC’s senior partner elect, Marco Amitrano, has named a new management board, with Laura Hinton replacing Marissa Thomas as managing partner and Hemione Hudson promoted to chief network officer. The reshuffle aims to bring a fresh perspective to the board, ensuring effective leadership within the organization.
